According to the survey of National Consumers League, more or less 70% to 80% of teens are doing jobs during their high school education. Out of these, more than 50% work more than 15 hours a week. From these jobs they make lot of money and during summer in holidays, they plan to spend it while traveling with their friends. It doesn’t matter where ever you go, it is important that you spend your money wisely. Whether you go on a week-long trip on some beautiful island or just for few days on a camping trip, you should plan well before time.

1. Travel When Others Don’t. Most of the people travel on weekends because of holydays, that’s why they have to pay extra money for “peak air traveling surcharge”. However, if you can avoid traveling on a weekend and instead go on Wednesday, it will save you lot of money. They can save up to $30 surcharge on one way and for two way travel you can save $60.
2. Split the Cost. If you are going with your friends, then it is a good idea to share the room while staying in the hotel. This way you can split the cost and thus save lot of money. It is very common during summer holydays that hotel owners increase their overall charges. A room can easily accommodate up to four people without too much trouble. The hotel will also permit it without charging too much money. This can save teens hundreds of dollars during their stay.
3. Take the Bus. Taxi charges lot of money so it is a much better if you take bus instead. It will also save you lot of money.
4. Second Choice isn’t Second Rate. Some of the more popular vacation destinations are more expensive than others so if your 1st choice travel destination is too expensive for you, then try other close options. You can use internet to search for these places. Often is the case that less visited places provide more fun and also cost much less. Travel agents often ask for lot of money and provide less in return so it is better not to go to them. Just spend little time on searching on the internet and you will find lot of great options.
5. Set a Budget. It is highly recommended that before going on the trip set your budget and stay within your limit. Also it is advised to bring extra cash because if you do, it is highly possible that you might spend it. Divide your cash for things like accommodation, food, traveling and shopping etc.
Planning a summer holyday can be a challenge for teens but it is also a great experience for them. These trips can be lot of fun and excitement for the teens and also learn a lot in the process.
